“When do you think a man looks hottest?”, I asked while
adjusting my glasses and leaning back lazily on a sofa. Bags of potato chips
were scattered on the living room table and the TV was on. As usual, my friend was busy watching sappy Korean dramas where people cry but they don’t
look like a hot tomato mess.
She took a piece of chip and munched, “Hot huh…”
We both thought of it for a moment then started throwing
each other comments,
“When a man ruffles through a girl’s hair”
“When he does little things like switching the car heater on
because the girl seems cold or fastening her seat belt”
“When he stares at her from afar while smiling”
“OOH YES! Also when he is having a bad day and smiles the
moment he sees that girl!”
“When he automatically orders the girl’s favorite dish on a
date”
“When he takes a selfie with the girl and makes that picture
his wallpaper”
“When the girl is having a bad day and she said she is fine,
then the man backhugs her saying “No you are not okay” while looking straight
to her eyes”
We both squealed and laughed upon imagining those scenarios.
Sometimes it takes only the simplest actions by someone we love to make us
happy. I won’t say all, but most girls only need those small gestures to feel
loved. I read a blog that says women are made to be loved, to accompany someone
who loves them and to be protected. Sounds cliché and fake but there is a
certain charm in that concept.
“When a man makes a bet and if he wins, the girl must
accompany him to the movies”
“When a girl is sick and he buys a bag of different
medicines because he is not sure which she usually takes”
“When he drives her home because it is too late at night”
“When he just hugs her without asking anything because he
knows something is wrong and he doesn’t want to upset her further”
“When he skips football night with his boys and accompanies
the girl watching meek soap operas”
“When he pins her to the wall and shouts : ‘Why can’t you
understand how much I love you? How else am I supposed to make you believe?’
“Oooh then he kisses her”
We swooned and squealed again while covering our faces,
laughing hard
“When he remembers the anniversary”
“When he posts one or two couplefies sometimes”
“When he loves her too much it hurts, sometimes he feels
like he wants to cry just because of the girl”
“When he is a mess and can’t think straight because of love”
“ When he asks a girl how her day has been while holding a
plastic bag of drinks and food”
“When he gets all excited because the girl says yes on a
date invitation”
“When he blushes while telling her how he feels ”
“When he texts simple Good Night”
“When he talks to her dad with respect”
“When he wears formal wear”
“And when he gets down on his knee holding out a ring”
We smiled and got lost in our thoughts. Sometimes, it takes
more than abs and wallet to make a girl happy. No, actually, what makes life
sweet is the small surprises and warm heartbeats. So take a chance, love someone,
tell them how you feel, be yourself and shout out how much you love them.
